Male Breast Cancer
I have just come across an interesting & useless fact and thought I would share with all here on Richards Realm Online Choice. This may not bother some of you as you wont be affected by any of it or just don't care. You may also already know this so wonder why I'm spouting nonsense (its what I do and what this blog is for!!).
Now I'm pretty sure we all know that men can suffer with various cancers including that of the prostate, testicular, skin, bowel & lung. But did you know that you can also get male breast cancer. That's right, its not just limited to women. OK so women are ten times more likely to get it and the likeliest male range to get it is men aged between 70 - 80, however the possibility is still out there and men are most likely unaware that this can affect them.
By the way I shall tell you about the way I came across this strange fact. I was thinking the other day about having to pay a girl I know some sponsorship money for her fun run for breast Cancer UK or what ever the charity is called. And then I thought why don't the blokes do one for a male cancer like testicular cancer. It could be a fun run called "run your nuts off" and sponsored by NUTS magazine (UK) or Nobbys Snacks (they do nuts, in fact bloody wicked nuts!). Then I thought further into this and came up with all sorts that I wont bore you with here, although I may do in future posts! So the next logical step was to research into this and see how common it was and who was out there collecting etc.
From this research I found out the above strange (well in my mind) fact and also that the largest cancer killer for the male is of the prostate and then the lung (although this one is the most commonly occurred). So there you have it. My bizarre, or not so bizarre fact for the day is that men can get breast cancer too. also note that I may now go ahead with this testicular cancer charity thing myself and will ask you for assistance some day soon.
